The flamboyant chief of Dera Sacha Sauda Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh ‘Insaan’ has reportedly received a threat to his life. According to the Haryana police they have registered a case over a threat letter sent to the Dera headquarters in Sirsa. Ram Rahim is not only a spiritual guru with a following numbering in hundreds of thousands, he is also a singer and actor and much more – all of these activities he does in order to project a larger-than-life image for himself before his followers as well as the world.
According to Sirsa SP, Satender Kumar the followers came across the letter while they were going through the many missives written by Dera followers at an event held on March 12 at the sect’s HQ on March 12.

Th letter was full of abuses hurled at the Dera chief and it also carried a threat to his life. Considering the sensitivity of the situation and unrest among his agitated followers, the police rushed to register a case under relevant sections of the IPC at the Sadar police station in Sirsa. Authorities have said that an investigation is on and all attempts are being made to quickly catch the culprits and bring them to book.
The Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is well protected as he has been accorded a security that is as high as that of the highest echelons in the government. The man is protected 24/7 through the Z plus security cover that he has been granted.
The Dera chief has acted in a number of films, that he himself produces, acts in and even sings for, the latest being the ‘Messenger of God’ series that have been well received by his followers. These are extremely gaudy, but the niche audience has been drawn to them courtesy their belief in Rahim.
